Dear Mom and Family (but mostly mom),

How are things in the land where you don't sweat when you sleep??? Im hoping all is well and that you all are enjoying the only life you get. I know that I am. It´s hard but I'm learning to even enjoy the hard parts. I want to be stronger and that comes from resistance. I just cant forget that i need to always rely on the Lord.

Good work Heath on beating Wasatch again. Im definately going to heckel Elder Hill a little bit for that one :)

It is true we did have changes last week and once again I have a new companion. I think im at something like 14 or 15 now but i lost track. Im in my same area in Gualan, Zacapa. My new companion´s name is Elder Clifford. He has the same amount of time i have in the mission and was Elder Hills comp in the MTC in Guatemala. He´s from Taylorsville, Utah. He´s a really cool guy and i know that we are going to accomplish alot this change.

This week we had the opportunity to participate in giving quite a few blessings which was a great experience (I dont think i can remember how to do stuff like that in English anymore. haha) I read a talk a while back about how we are not just permitted to use the Priesthood when we hold the authority but that we a responsible to use it to bless the lives of others as frequently as possible or that God will take the right away from us. I am trying to magnify my calling and use my Priesthood everyday. I need to be more aware of opportunities to bless the lives of others daily with it and be the hands of the Lord hear on earth. We all have the responsiblity as representatives of Jesus Christ to help others feel his love through us. There are so many people that think God has forgotten about them but we need to go find them and love them so they know that that is not true.

So I learned something cool this week. The owner of the house we live in husband got baptized this week in the capital. (cool news but not what i was talking about.) Me and her 9 year old son Jose Miguel have gotten to be really good friends. He´s a really cool little kid. He kind of reminds me of a little Heath (but funnier and not as annoying). So Jose and his mom have been starting to help us more getting in the missionary spirit. So to the point I invited the whole branch here to read the Book of Mormon in the last 3 months of the year as well and i dont think most of the people are doing it (havnt done a very good job of verifying) but the youth and that family are. So on the cool news this little 9 year old kid invited his great-uncle here and his uncle in Marylad to read it and they are!! The uncle in Maryland is inactive with a non member wife but they are reading it together. Also we are going to teach his great uncle tomorrow. He also talks to alot of people about the church and when people tell him that they have problems he tells them "What you need is to go to the mormon church" That kid is awesome!!!

Also last week we found a guy named Arturo Cuhueque. He was friends with the missionaries in zacapa when he was younger (about 40 years ago) He loves what we´ve been teaching him and he´s smart and open so we can actually use scriptures from the bible to teach him and he believes it and understand. Most people here only believe what there pastor says or can comprehend what were teaching intelectually. It has been good b.c it has taught me to rely on my testimony to touch the peoples hearts more but it did feel nice to get to teach to him. Please pray for him that he will take the steps nessacary to be baptized and come unto God.

I love you all so much and you are always in my prayers. Dont go to crazy on Holloween!!!

Love,

Elder Vincent
