Dear Mom and family,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Sorry, i didn´t get to write until today. Its hard to find time in the office. So i hear the weather has been kind of crazy back there in the states. Isn't nice that it waited until after your birthday to snow like that. Its been pretty cold hear to lately and i still haven't adjusted but today is warmer and im definately enjoying that. Other then the weather how are things going back home? Are you staying busy?
Well my weeks been really good and busy. This week we worked alot with the members and it has been awesome. I am really growing to love this ward and the people here and as always especially the little kids. This last week we were able two find two awesome new families. They live in very very humble circumstances but i am very greatful that i found them. I love these families. One is the Suchite family, they´ve lived in the capital a couple of months now but are from a place not to far away from my last area. They are a mom and her 3 kids. There is also a brother that we're teaching with them and all of her family lives close so we're going to try to teach all of them. (they came to church on sunday).
There is another family that lives really close to them, the Lux family. This family is huge. The first time i taught them only part of the family was there and i thought they had a lot of people there. Then the next time we went more and more peope just kept walking in. I think there were about 15 people in that lesson and they were still missing a few people. They are from a place where they speak a language called Quiche. Greatfully they all speak spanish as well though so we can teach them. The girls from that region of the country were really beautiful outfits with bright colors and elaborate designs. They look so cool on the little girls. (the dad and on of the kids came to church with us
Also some sweet news is that we have 2 baptism schedualed for this week!! One is with a 19 year old named Kevin. His girlfriend is a member and introduced him to the church. He's really prepared and really excited to be baptized but his family is not as excited so hopefully that doesn´t cause problems. He's kind of a crazy teenager but he has a strong testimony so im really excited. The other is a 13 year old girl named Filipa. She moved reccently to live with her aunts who were recently baptized in January by elder corbridge (the Batz Family).
This week in the ward the primary had there program. I just want to thank you for making me memorize my parts. The kids here in the ward were incredible. There is an awesome 7 year old kid here name Keneth. He memorized Joseph Smith history verses 14-20. He already has a bunch of the hymns memorized and he keeps telling us about how he's going to be a missionary in 2022. He's such a stud and his family has only been going to church for a couple months. (He's related to Filipa)
About being released from your calling, that doesn´t mean that you can rest! It just means you have to look for other ways to serve. You can rest a little but its good to stay busy. And its even better to serve people. The more love we give the more love we'll feel.
So a couple questions...did you tell sister poston that i met her cousin? Also we got a package here in the office and on the box it is addressed to me but on the post office report it says it's to elder hill so let me know who it's really for. ( its not the one with the t-shirt)?? Also do you know if Zack Blair is planning on going on a mission?? and before you sell the old house will you take some pictures of it. Especially the new basement.
Mom i hope you had the best birthday ever. Im especially greatful that God has given you another year and that you can be my mom for another year and forever. You have blessed my life more then i can even describe. Today in this great day of Thanksgiving i thank my Father in Heaven for putting me in your trusted hands and for the love he has sent me through you.
I love you all very much and dont forget to read your scriptures and say your prayers.
